Fortnite could be getting a new way to travel quickly in an upcoming update. A new bounce pad item has been found within the game’s files, and it’s different than a previous iteration.

The item, found by @TwoEpicBuddies on Twitter, is something of a combination of previous bounce pad items. This new one can be placed on walls, roofs, and the floor, and it also can boost you when you hit it with a shopping cart.

Previously, Fortnite had a bounce pad called Directional and one called Up, which is basically the Jump Pad we know in-game today. This one seems like it could be used in a more directional fashion as a way to quickly travel in one specific direction, as opposed to high up in the air.

A directional bounce pad would definitely come in handy as an item to be placed down when attempting to escape the storm, but Fortnite’s dedicated community would undoubtedly find many other additional uses on top of that.

As this is yet another datamined item, it’s not official whatsoever. All that this means is that it was found within the game’s files, and it could be added to the game at any time, or not at all. Stay tuned to official Fortnite channels for a potential announcement in the coming weeks.
