Featuring fellow rappers Lil Yachty, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Yung Bans, “Fortnite” begins with the game’s iconic menu music before transforming into a background theme for the foursome’s rap about squading up and being richer than Wario. The song, which was released on July 8, has already been viewed nearly 800,000 times on YouTube and played over 350,000 times on Soundcloud.

The YouTube video very much resembles a typical highlights video with great plays shown throughout the four-minute video. Except with the singers’ faces superimposed on the action.

Both Murda Beatz and Lil Yachty are known Fortnite fans. Both competed in last month’s inaugural Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am at E3. At the event, Lil Yachty teamed up with popular YouTuber Preston “TBNRFrags” Arsement while Murda Beatz was paired with streamer Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofsetter.

Last month, Fortnite fans were hoping that Drake was releasing a track about the game himself. A song title suggested it might’ve been inspired by the night he streamed Fortnite with Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, but instead it was inspired by Drake’s rumored lovechild. While Ski Mask the Slump God might not have the star power to make your parents aware of him, the weird track from these other Murda Beatz collaborators slaps pretty hard anyways.

The song doesn’t have a lot to do with the battle royale game, that the song exists at all is more proof that Fortnite: Battle Royale has taken over as a piece of pop culture that transcends communities.
