Fortnite: Battle Royale has wooden utility poles, and we just found that out because developer Epic Games asked us to destroy some of them as part of a progressive challenge of week four, season seven.

Wooden utility poles are tall poles made of wood that are spread across the Fortnite island. They grant little amounts of material and are never too close to each other, which might be the reason why many players just ignored them until now.
Where to find wooden utility poles
The best place to find them is in the surrounding roads across the map. The map below shows most areas where there are many close to each other. Players might find more in other areas.
There are plenty in the roads close to Junk Junction, Pleasant Park, and surrounding Loot Lake and The Block. The entire road in the desert biome southeast of the map has these wooden poles players can take down to complete the challenge. Players will have a hard time finding these poles near Dusty Divot and Salty Springs, but Fatal Field has some spread around it.
The only snow-covered area where players will find plenty of wooden utility poles is near Lucky Landing.
Areas like Tilted Towers and other big cities are dominated by metal utility poles that don’t count for this challenge.
Tips & Tricks
Remember that the challenge asks you to destroy the wooden utility poles, not necessarily farm them. A good trick to easily complete the challenge is to get an ATK or Quadcrasher, drive along these roads, and run them over.
Some of them can also be found in another shape, like the ones near the factories west of Loot Lake. They also let you progress through the challenge normally, but take longer to be destroyed and will be more visible to other players when exploding. If you’re feeling confident, they grant a decent amount of wood too, so it might help you with materials for the rest of the match.
So drop into the game, find a vehicle, and crush all these poles to complete the challenge.
