A new Fortnite: Battle Royale update is coming tomorrow. Fortnite’s v8.20 content update will go live on Tuesday, April 2.

Fortnite players will only know the full changes coming in the v8.20 content update once the patch notes go live around 7am CT tomorrow. There won’t be any download or downtime require for this update, either.

Despite very few things being confirmed so far for this week’s Fortnite update, players already have good hints about what can come to the game. Here’s a breakdown of what fans can expect from the v8.20 content update.

Explosive Bow

A new weapon called the Explosive Bow is confirmed to come to Fortnite: Battle Royale—and even though its release date has yet to be announced, Epic always teases items when they’re set to be released in the upcoming update. That’s why we think the v8.20 content update is bringing the Explosive Bow to the game.

Everything we know about this new weapon is based on leaks. It can be a Legendary explosive weapon with knockback, area damage, and charged shots while apparently using shotgun shells as ammo. If leaks are right, it deals 110 damage on impact and has a 1.296 reload time.

The addition of the Explosive Bow might lead to the removal of another weapon, since that’s a shift Epic usually makes to keep the balance of the game’s loot pool.

The Baller nerf

Epic is nerfing The Baller into the ground. Last week’s v8.20 update removed its damage capabilities, and Epic announced that same day that more nerfs would come in the next update. From that update on, players will be able to shoot drivers of The Baller through the glass and deal damage directly to them, instead of having to force them out of the vehicle, destroying it, or hitting them with a Boogie Bomb.

This change is coming because Epic isn’t satisfied “with the current use of Ballers, specifically in the late game.”

Bug fixes

Players should expect very few bug fixes in the v8.20 content update. The v8.20 update brought so many issues along with it that Epic was forced to release a second patch two days later to fix a huge list of glitches. With that many bugs already fixed, it’s unlikely that this week’s update will bring many more.

What players will surely see fixed in the patch notes, according to the Fortnite Community Issues board, are bugs related to trap placement near stairs and structure editing when an ally is nearby.

We’ll update this story as more things are announced or confirmed for Fortnite’s v8.20 content update.
