This is an especially tough quest to tackle because it requires you to obtain a few items and use them in a very particular way. There’s a lot of room for error and confusion with this quest, so here’s how to damage vehicles with the Unibeam while flying in Fortnite.

To damage vehicles with the Unibeam while flying in Fortnite, you need to have both Iron Man Mythic items equipped and hit a car with them while in the air. You need the Unibeam, which comes from the Combat Kit, and the ability to fly, which comes from the Flight Kit, so both Iron Man items are required for this task.

This is a pretty tricky task to complete since it doesn’t tell you what you need or how to do it. You have to be very precise and careful to complete this quest, so here’s a breakdown of everything you need to do to finish this task.

  • Obtain Iron Man’s Flight Kit and Iron Man’s Combat Kit. You can acquire both from Stark Mobile Armories as they land around the map, although they might also offer War Machine items like War Machine’s Arsenal, War Machine’s Auto-turret, and War Machine’s Hover Jets instead. Be sure to check the Stark Chests around the landing pads where the armories land too since these can also contain Iron Man items. If both of these options fail, Iron Man sells one Combat Kit for 600 gold bars, so you can purchase it from him if you’re the first player.
  • Locate a vehicle. You can often find them at gas stations and around some POIs like Reckless Railways, Doomstadt, and Restored Reels.
  • Launch into the air using the Flight Kit. Locate this item in your inventory and activate the Launch option to fly into the sky. If you’re not sure what button to press, look near the left edge of the screen to see the controls for this item.
  • Select the Unibeam option on the Flight Kit while aiming at the vehicle. Although you might be tempted to switch over to the Combat Kit to activate the Unibeam while in the air, you need to stay on the Flight Kit and activate the Unibeam through it. Just like War Machine’s weaponry, Iron Man’s also works together as you unlock them, which means you can use both modules at once without swapping between them. You can see which button you need to press to activate the Unibeam near the left edge of the screen.

As long as you’re aiming at the vehicle, you can complete this task with just one shot. You need to deal a total of 180 damage, which is a decent amount, but you should be able to do at least 300 damage with just one shot. If you don’t do enough damage, you’ll have to wait for the Unibeam to recharge before trying again.

Once you finish this task, you can move on to completing other tricky quests to claim more XP. Some other quests you might want to work on finishing next are damaging opponents with energy weapons and searching Armor Stands, Stark Industry Chests, and Avenger’s Chests. If you’re up for the task, you can also uncover some secret missions around the island, like the Stark Fan Club found quests and Gwenpool’s mission.
