It’s taken over six months, but LEGO Fortnite is finally getting two improvements we’ve been crying out for as part of next week’s update.
Brick by brick, LEGO Fortnite has been steadily improving since first arriving in Dec. 2023, but traveling long distances and dealing with night-time ambushes from skeletons have been a pain—though not for much longer.
LEGO Fortnite announced the Fast Travel Update will arrive on Aug. 6, which, as the name suggests, includes the ability to fast-travel across the map using the new Battle Bus—but it’s not the only major quality-of-life improvement.
You’ll also be able to sleep until morning when the update drops, meaning you no longer have to deal with hordes of skeletons. Instead, a good night’s rest will take you straight to a new day, like in Minecraft.
Other additions are also coming to LEGO Fortnite in the update, with “new Toys” specifically mentioned, which may provide even more ways to travel. So far, Toys available include Thrusters, Wheels, and Balloons—so we can expect a similar theme.
Whether this means you’ll be able to craft more complex vehicles for travel remains to be seen, but I’m personally hoping for the ability to build proper planes and boats. I’ve got tired of a simple raft with Thrusters.
The Aug. 6 update could also introduce Klombos to LEGO Fortnite, an addition teased in a leaked roadmap earlier this year, and there’s certainly going to be more surprises in store.
Providing two of the biggest quality-of-life improvements we’ve been crying out for is a huge boost, though, and now I’m just waiting for the ability to share designs for custom builds. I’ve got a huge LEGO city to construct, after all.
