Turner “Tfue” Tenney’s secret to qualifying for the Fortnite World Cup Solo Finals this weekend was draining the competitive power of his fellow streamers, it seems.
Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Jake “POACH” Brumleve, Dennis “Cloak” Lepore, and Symfuhny had their worst performances in the World Cup qualifiers this weekend.

Ninja placed 1,368th in North America East with seven matches played and 20 total points, 12 from eliminations and eight from placements. He almost halved his points in comparison to the Solo qualifiers in week one, when he scored 37 points to place 218th. He was two positions ahead of Team Liquids’ POACH, who also scored 20 points, but with 17 points from eliminations and three from placements.
Symfuhny had the best week one qualifier performance among top Fortnite streamers when he placed 63rd with 46 points. In the week three qualifiers, however, he only got 30 points for the 534th position with 18 points from eliminations and 12 from placements.
Tfue’s World Cup duo and FaZe Clan teammate Cloak also had a huge drop in performance, going from 52 points and the 32nd spot in week one to 34 points and 316th last weekend. He was the only player in the group who scored more placement than elimination points, with 14 compared to 20.
The performances of all these streamers were worse than they were during the Duos week two qualifiers, when Tfue also failed to qualify.
Most of these streamers just lamented their performance this weekend. Ninja said he “just kept getting heavily contested and griefed” in his matches, while POACH just wrote that “qualification is not happening this week.”
There were no big additions, removals, or changes in Fortnite: Battle Royale since the first week of the Open Qualifiers took place from April 13 to 14. The last two patches were mostly focused on bug fixes and small adjustments, while the only item that was added were Epic and Legendary rarities of the Infantry Rifle. None of them caused big shifts in the meta, so the state of the game was about the same in both week one and three.
All of these streamers and other players still have three other Solo and four Duo Open Qualifiers to try to get a spot in the Fortnite World Cup Finals in New York from July 26 to 28.
