Playground, which allows players up to one hour in a relatively casual environment, will become a permanent game mode in Fortnite: Battle Royale, according to the game’s official Twitch account.

The game mode was originally added on June 27 with the v4.5 update, but it was quickly removed after a slew of matchmaking issues were uncovered. The problems appeared to be extensive, with Epic continually postponing the re-enable time. After nearly a week, Playground was added back into the game.

Since its return, players have shown off their creativity in Playground—some are even creating Mario Kart tracks. Many players have given glowing reviews about the game mode, praising it for its creative freedom and casual nature, so it’s no surprise that Epic plans to make it a permanent fixture with Fortnite.

Developers are working on a version of Playground that will stick around, but no timetable was given. As has been the case with past Limited Time Modes, many expect changes will be made once the LTM becomes a few weeks old. The permanent Playground may even be coming for the start of Season Five, which will begin in the near future.

Until there is a set arrival date, players will continue to express their creativity and push the limits of Fortnite: Battle Royale in the Playground LTM.
