The 6. 1 Fortnite update is here, and players will get to try out the game’s newest vehicle and compete against friends and foes.
The Quadcrasher, a two-person ride, is essentially a superpowered All Terrain Kart. It has a boost that can allow players to smash through buildings, off ramps, or launch opposing players.
Quadcrasher is the third vehicle in Fortnite: Battle Royale, which also has Shopping Carts and the aforementioned All Terrain Kart. Each have their unique characteristics, but it would appear the Quadcrasher is the strongest and quite possibly most useful of the three.
The new Events tab has also been added to the game, serving as the game’s home for online tournaments. Epic confirmed the system Monday, and said the first tournament, a Solo competition, begins today and ends Oct. 21. There are four other event types scheduled after the kickoff tournament, including a weekly Squad tournament on Fridays.
Epic also confirmed in the patch notes that the Port-A-Fortress has been disabled again. One week ago, the developers re-enabled the item after they removed it just 10 days into its existence. The reasoning for this latest removal has not been revealed other than the developers saying they are working to “resolve some issues” with the Port-A-Fortress.
Save the World players will have some things to look forward to as well. In addition to the return of the Grave Digger rifle, the Rat King Assault Rifle, a semi-automatic weapon that “fires powerful rounds” will be available from Oct. 17 to Oct. 24.
