Last night’s Fortnite Winter Royale qualifiers didn’t go well for some famous streamers. Turner “Tfue” Tenney, Daequan “Daequan” Loco, Ali “SypherPK” Hassan, and Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo didn’t make to top 200 in their regions and are out of the $1 million online competition.
Players had six solo Winter Royale sessions to play over the weekend. Their highest-scoring session was taken into account for the event leaderboards. Players got one point for eliminations at three, five, and seven kills. Reaching top 10 and five in a match awarded one point for each, while a Victory Royale granted three points.
The final Winter Royale standings for the qualifier show that 29 points in a session would guarantee a player a spot in the next stage, since very few players with 28 points made it into the top 200.
Tfue scored 27 and SypherPK scored 28, while Daeqan, DrLupo, and other streamers, like Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, didn’t reveal their final best score and didn’t qualify.
Some of these players shared their thoughts on their performance.
Tfue just said, “I’m trash” on his Twitter. SypherPK and NICKMERCS wrote that despite not qualifying, they had a great time during this tournament. DrLupo and Daequan didn’t write anything, but their names aren’t on the list despite having played this weekend.
Fortnite streamers who qualified for next week’s Winter Royale include Ryan “Chap” Chaplo (36 points, 11th place), Aydan “Aydan” Conrad (29 points, 146th place), and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins (29 points, 150th place).
Players with the same score received different rankings based on tiebreakers that prioritize total points scored, total Victory Royales in the top scoring session, and average points per match.
That doesn’t mean all of these streamers are out for good, though. The rules of Winter Royale say a player will only be eligible to play in the next stage if they are 16 or older and if Fortnite developer Epic Games approves an Eligibility Survey that they’ll need to fill out. That will likely rule out some top 200 players from the next stage and could leave room for players with 28 points, like SypherPK, to automatically move into the top 200 and qualify.

The Fortnite Winter Royale finals start in Europe on Nov. 30, with the grand finals set for Dec. 1. North America will have its finals on Dec. 11 and the grand finals on Dec. 12. The champion in each region will take home $75,000.
