Earning the Doctor Doom skin in Fortnite is not easy, as it can’t be purchased using V-Bucks or Battle Stars. Instead, you need to complete various quests—and locating rare chests is one of them.

Finding one rare chest during a Fortnite game is difficult enough, but hunting for a total of five, even though you can do it across multiple matches, is a chore. Fortunately, we’ve got some tips to make the process fly by.

Rare chests spawn randomly in Fortnite, and you never truly know their precise positions—but there are some guaranteed ways to loot some during a game, as long as an opponent doesn’t get there first.

Rare chests may spawn in locations like Castle Doom, Doomstadt, The Raft, and many others this season. However, the spawns are not guaranteed, and even if they are there, rare chests in these areas are difficult to get to first due to the popularity of the drop zone.

While you can try your luck with this approach, the best tactic is to wait until the Bunkers on the map open during a match. Though their location changes, an alert pings when the Bunker begins to open and directs you to where they are waiting.

Bunkers are always a goldmine in Fortnite, containing lots of valuable loot and a Mod Bench, but they’re also a guaranteed way of finding rare chests. Each Bunker has at least two rare chests inside and, more often than not, has three.

You only need to open five to complete the Doctor Doom challenge, so while you can’t complete it while visiting just one Bunker, it can be done in a single match if you make a trip to more than one of the locations—although the likelihood of a second Bunker being untouched in your match is low.
