Esports calendar web extension Abios is expanding into Super Smash Bros.
The company will primarily focus on the series’ Gamecube version, Super Smash Bros. Melee, but depending on the community’s demand, it may branch out into other versions, likely Super Smash Bros for Wii U.
With companies such as DreamHack and HTC expanding their reach into the Smash community (and Major League Gaming returning), Abios hopes to make it easier for viewers to keep track of ongoing events.
The program is a ticker which shows live and upcoming matches directly in your browser window in both Chrome and Firefox. It directly links to the streams for tournaments and streamers in multiple games and provides desktop notifications and prize money for tournaments in the extension view.
Although it’s currently just a web extension and website, The calendar focuses on the major esports—League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive—as wall as relatively smaller games, such as Heroes of Newerth and Smite. Abios will likely to expand into more games soon, and a rumored a mobile version of the app is likely on the horizon as well.
