The first step in most players’ journey—and a constant throughout their time in Los Santos—is the search for the best cars GTA Online has to offer. Whether you’re cruising through Vespucci Beach in style or outrunning the police through the Grand Senora desert, you’ll want a trusty vehicle (or a whole fleet of them) with you.

With a constant stream of new cars and garages large enough to store dozens of vehicles, GTA Online gearheads are bound to open up their iFruit as soon as each update drops just to see the new additions to Legendary Motorsports, the game’s deluxe car dealership. With high-powered engines, three-digit top speeds, and seven-figure price tags, Legendary Motorsport is home to some of the best cars in the game—as long as players can pay the price.

Here are the best cars in GTA Online, whether you’re looking for the fast, the furious, or the fashionable—or even a mix of all three.

The best cars in GTA Online, ranked

Pegassi Ignus

Price$2,765,000
Top Speed124.75 mph

If you could only buy one car in GTA Online, the Ignus would be a tremendous choice. And after purchasing it, odds are you won’t want any other car.

The Ignus boasts amazing speed and acceleration alongside incredible control, which makes driving it a breeze even at high speeds. This car is a beast straight off the dealership, but throw in some enhancements at your mod shop and you’ll make it shine. If you’re on PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series X, get a weaponized version of the Ignus at Warstock, then take it to Hao’s Special Works to give it a performance boost.

If sheer horsepower isn’t enough, however, the Ignus also has plenty of customization options that will make you spend a good chunk of time inside an auto shop. Between a primary color, the secondary shade that will color the accents all over the car, and a few different livery options, there is plenty to tweak the Ignus. Paint and looks don’t change performance—but the Ignus isn’t lacking in any of these departments.

Benefactor LM87

Price$2,915,000
Top Speed128.50 mph

Don’t judge a book by its cover and don’t judge this car by its exterior. Yes, it looks closer to what you’d see on a racing track than what you’d see on the streets of Los Santos, but that’s what makes it excel in this game.

The Benefactor LM87 boasts some of the best stats in GTA Online thanks to its amazing braking, traction, and acceleration. It makes curves so smoothly you can probably take chug a can of Sprunk soda along the way and there wouldn’t be a drop to clean up—well, outside of the sweat coming in from your brow as you hit its top speed.

Benefactor Krieger and Progen Emerus

Price$2,875,000 and $2,750,000

There are plenty of cars to choose from in GTA Online, but the racing scene is dominated by two undisputed kings: the Progen Emerus and the Benefactor Krieger. The two cars consistently outrank most of the competition and players who are looking for the top spot on the leaderboards should seriously consider getting their hands on one of them.

The two cars behave similarly to each other, and ultimately, choosing between them is a matter of taste and the circuit you’re running. The Krieger’s acceleration and traction are unparalleled, which gives it an edge in races with plenty of straight lines. But the Emerus has better brakes and gains a small advantage on tracks with more curves.

Dewbauchee Vagner

Price$1,535,000
Top Speed126.75 mph

They say the best things come in small packages, and the Vagner is a testament to that adage. Despite being one of the cheapest supers, this car can go head-to-head with some of the fastest vehicles in the game. If you’re on a budget and need to make a long-term investment, you can’t go wrong with the Vagner.

Truffade Thrax

Price$2,325,000
Top Speed124.00 mph

The Thrax appears to be based on the Bugatti Divo and doesn’t really fall behind its real-life counterpart. It has good handling and brakes, but lacks the whiplash-inducing acceleration of the Krieger and the Emerus. The Thrax still outperforms most of the other supercars, though, so it’s a viable choice for both racing and missions.

Overflöd Autarch

Price$1,955,000
Top Speed125.50 mph

If you’re looking for a grippy car that’s easy to control but you don’t want to shell out the big bucks for the 80RR, there’s no reason to pick anything other than the Autarch. This car boasts amazing traction and brakes alongside high speed and acceleration, which makes it a great option to use in missions and races.

Principe Deveste Eight

Price$1,795,000
Top Speed131.75 mph

The Deveste Eight boasts the front of a high-end sports car and the trunk of a futuristic prototype vehicle. Its stats provide the best of both worlds, too. Strap the most powerful engine of all Supers into a grippy, easy-to-handle car and you get the Deveste Eight.

Its brakes are slightly weaker than other vehicles, but the high traction means that you won’t use them too much anyway. Just be mindful of its overly long hitbox. It’s easy to underestimate the length of this car.

Grotti Furia

Price$2,055,000 or $2,740,000
Top Speed122.00 mph

Speed, handling, and beauty: This car has it all with a price tag to match. The Furia draws inspiration from real-life Ferraris to create a mesmerizing, classy supercar. Although it’s marginally outranked by other vehicles on the list, the Furia is a strong choice if you want a fast car with the looks that say “I just robbed the Diamond Casino & Resort.”

To obtain the discount for the Furia, you need to complete the Casino Heist using the Big Con approach. During the heist, you need to pick the Yung Ancestor disguise and pick the Grotti Furia as your getaway car.

Open-Wheel Cars

Ocelot R88$3,115,000122.00 mph
Progen PR4$3,515,000120.50 mph

These cars are supers in everything but name and are in a different league of their own, bundled under the Open-Wheel category. This means they can’t compete with Supers in races, but they are still an excellent choice for players who want to blast through Los Santos.

Open-wheel cars are GTA Online‘s attempt at bringing Formula 1 to Los Santos—and the results are overwhelmingly positive. Although some may not have as much top speed as several other supercars, their acceleration, braking, and handling are nearly unmatched. The cherry on top is a Boost system that gives players a nitro by pressing the horn button and fills up whenever they’re not accelerating.

This isn’t to say these cars don’t have downsides. They’re significantly lighter than the rest of the cars and a collision is sure to send them flying. If you get some air time when going down a slope, too, the car is prone to turning and losing control. The hefty price tag is another barrier to acquiring these vehicles.
