Stardew Valley gives players lots of options when starting a new game, including changing the World Seed. This lets you create unique worlds with specific events. A meteor falling one year won’t happen at the same time as a meteor falling in another World Seed.
Once you choose your World Seed and your game creates the world, it will schedule all the Random Events like daily weather, traveling cart stocks, and so on. Then, you can start interacting with the world however you like, from solving tasks to moving farm buildings, among many other activities.
You can find your World Seed in your save file on your computer. Below are some great seeds that can help you get the most out of Stardew Valley according to your preferences.
Great World Seeds to try in Stardew Valley
Best early start
If you’re looking to kickstart your Stardew Valley adventure with a bang, you can’t miss out on this seed. This gem promises a year one packed with lucrative events and opportunities.
In Spring, the Crop Fairy graces your land twice, on day six and day 17, ensuring a boost to your harvests. Plus, the Witch arrives on day 26. Come Fall, the Crop Fairy returns on day 17. Then, winter heralds the arrival of a meteorite on day nine, followed the Witch again on day 17.
With a strategic start, your initial Parsnip harvest on day five will fund more profitable seeds just in time for the Fairy’s visits.
Crop Fairy on day three
- Seed: 269733094
This Seed requires a lot of work initially, but it’s well worth it if you want a great start without the game feeling too unfair. First, you must go to your farm and plant as many seeds as possible. Prepare by clearing a good chunk of your land, which will be critical later. Plant seeds in the first two to three days after clearing out your farm. You don’t need to water the crops—instead, keep planting and clearing space.
On Spring 3, the Crop Fairy will do magical things to your crops. You usually get a complete harvest from your seeds when she’s done, although the effects are random. Planting many seeds will help you make a lot of money.
We recommend planting a lot of Parsnip Seeds because they’re cheap, and you can plant lots of them. In the beginning, you get 500g to buy and plant 25 Parsnip Seeds, and if you combine it with the 15 Parsnip Seeds the mayor gives you, you’ll have plenty to plant. You’ll gain at least 1,400g and up to 2,080g from planting all 40 and have much experience harvesting them. We’ve also included significant variations to this Seed below.
Crop Fairy on day one
- Seed: 270192222
The strategy begins after the crop fairy arrives making this Seed different from the one above. Since the Crop Fairy comes to you on the first night, you can speed up planting and maximize your earning potential. The following morning, you can harvest whatever you planted on day one. The process may seem the same until you realize regrowth cycles are involved. 500g is enough to plant eight Bean Starters, which take 10 days to grow, but the Crop fairy will take care of that for you. The Green Beans will grow every three days, allowing you to earn even more money.
During your first season, you can harvest your Green Beans nine times if you harvest them on day two. If you could only afford the eight Bean Starters, that’s a minimum of 2,880g and a maximum of 5,760g. It’s arguably a better start than waiting for the fairy, and it wouldn’t be easy to beat with the Seed above, since Bean Starters cost 60g, and it would take three full days to begin the process. This start is recommended over the one above because it gives about double the payoff and makes the game easier to play.
The Crop Fairy strikes twice
- Seed: 269902148
This one is a combination of the World Seeds above. This World Seed has the crop fairy visit on the third night, so use the same tactic as the first World Seed. The difference is you’re guaranteed to get a meteor and an owl in your first season. As a cherry on top, the Crop Fairy will reappear on fall’s first day.
The meteor is guaranteed to land on your farm, even though it usually occurs randomly. You can loot meteors for normal geodes, iridium ore, and stones. You also get a Stone Owl unrelated to the Stone Owl sold at the Night Market. Stone Owls appear randomly on farms; many claim there’s less than a one-percent chance of seeing one. Your farm’ll be one of the lucky few to have a Stone Owl.
As for the Crop Fairy, you can guarantee you’ll be far ahead if you follow the tactic from the first World Seed mentioned above, and use the strategy from the second World Seed said for Fall one. Using the money you gain from the first strategy, even if you only get the minimum amount, you can reinvest it to earn at least 8,280g, and at most, 16,560g.
Second-best for Crop Fairy
- Seed: 338377264
If the seeds above aren’t to your liking, there’s an alternative that also prioritizes the Crop Fairy. This seed boasts three ethereal encounters with the Crop Fairy within just two fruitful years. The first one takes place in the first few days after you start your farming journey.
The Crop Fairy’s presence signifies a boon for any aspiring agriculturalist, as she accelerates the growth of your crops, ensuring abundant yields and lucrative profits. With her intervention, you’ll witness a bountiful harvest beyond your wildest dreams.
Finish the Community Center in your first year
- Seed: 203853655
Although this Seed isn’t the most interesting of the group, it’s perfect if you want to finish the Community Center in a year. The Traveling Cart will sell many Bundle ingredients necessary to complete the Community Center on certain days of the year. Remember that when the Traveling Cart comes on Summer 28, you can purchase Ancient Seeds that reward you greatly if you plant them on Spring one.
In addition to being difficult, it may even be more challenging if you rely on the Traveling Cart to provide everything, since it’s so expensive. If you’re trying to do this in a year and are okay with spending gold to make up for what you can’t do, check out our list below for the days the Traveling Cart comes and what ingredients it sells for Community Bundles.
There’s no randomness to the Traveling Cart on this Seed, so it’ll appear as listed below on the dates listed:
- Duck Feather: Spring five
- Large Goat Milk: Spring 21
- Nautilus Shell and Truffle Oil: Summer 12
- Sturgeon, Rabbits Foot, and Tiger Trout: Summer 21
- Red Cabbage: Fall 12
- Crab and Large Egg: Fall 14
- Large Mix, Truffle, and Rabbit’s Foot: Winter 14
- Cloth, Solar Essence, and Coffee Bean: Winter 26
The traveling cart isn’t locked to a year, so you can always see it next year on those days.
A second-best for the Community Center
- Seed: 203853699
Seed 203853699 is a solid second-best Seed for ambitious Stardew Valley farmers who want to conquer the Community Center’s challenges. It strategically times the Traveling Cart with elusive items like Duck Feather, Red Cabbage, and Truffle Oil so you can access every essential resource throughout the seasons.
Here’s an example: The Traveling Cart delivers the Ancient Seed in Summer, setting the stage for a fruitful Fall harvest. If you plan your days carefully, you can complete the Crab Pot bundle effortlessly by Fall, thanks to the timely availability of Crab on Fall 14.
The best Traveling Cart
This Seed is a beacon of fortune, especially if you’re interested in the Traveling Cart’s treasures. You’ll get two meteoric events in the first year, but by far the biggest highlight is the Traveling Cart.
A rare Ancient Seed appears in the Traveling Cart on Spring five, and is yours for a mere 700 gold. This unexpected boon sets the tone for a bountiful adventure.
Best start with Ancient Seeds
- Seed: 281191250
Rather than giving you a random event, this World Seed gives you a way to kickstart your farm. Your first step should be to head north from your farm to Linus’ tent. You will see some worms in the dirt in front of his tent. Till the worms with your hoe and you’ll get five Ancient Seeds. This is helpful because Ancient Seeds are rare and have less than a two percent chance of appearing in the Traveling Merchant’s inventory.
Penelope and the Dwarf in the mines like Ancient Seeds, but instead of giving them away, donate one to Gunther at the Museum. You’ll get a pack of Ancient Seeds you can plant, and a recipe to make more Ancient Seeds from Gunther in return for your contribution. You can use the other four seeds to make four more packs of Ancient Seeds and plant them on the same day.
It takes 28 days for Ancient Fruit to grow, so if you plant it on the first day of Spring, you can harvest the first batch of fruit in Summer one, then continue to harvest them every seven days until Winter. The first batch will net you at least 2,750g, and the best batches of five will earn you 5,500g. By the beginning of Winter, you would have earned at least 24,750g and at most 49,500g.
Even the worst-case scenario will make the second year much easier if you save up, making this Stardew Valley World Seed the best.
Best Overall Seed for Events, Crops, and Resources
- Seed: 292740730
If you just want an overall boost for every aspect of Stardew Valley, this Seed is for you. From the timely availability of Ancient Seeds and Red Cabbage seeds to the arrival of the enigmatic Crop Fairy on Spring 15, this Seed gives you a harmonious blend of fortune and opportunity.
The encounter with the Witch will come as early as Summer 12, followed by the meteor shower in Fall three.
Iridium Meteor Seed
- Seed: 309181356
This Seed is the ultimate choice if you’re looking to farm meteors in Stardew Valley. While it demands a tad more patience, the rewards are unmatched.
At the close of Spring in year one, you get your first meteoric event, with not one but two subsequent chances at the end of year two. If the stars align in your favor, the Iridium Meteor will crash onto your farm, giving you six pieces of Iridium Ore.
With Iridium Ore, you can unlock lots of new stuff in Stardew Valley, like crafting top-tier tools. Plus, you can also venture to the Traveling Cart on Spring five and seize the opportunity to acquire an Ancient Seed for just 700 gold.
Stardew Valley Seeds map predictor
Stardew Valley has various mods that can improve your in-game experience, and a map predictor is one of those. Take your pick between the offered Stardew Valley Seeds, and the mod will let you know what to expect in specific sections of the map.
Better yet, there’s more than one mod like this out there. Examples include the one from the Stardew Valley forum, created by BlaDe, or the one hosted on ModLand by John Der33. If you’re experimenting with Stardew Valley Seeds, these tools will undoubtedly come in handy.
How World Seeds work in Stardew Valley
If you don’t change your Seed, you’ll get a random Seed to play with, and everything that happens is based on that World Seed. Changing your Seed requires starting a new game. As you typically do in Stardew Valley, fill out your character sheet and pick your farm. When you’re all done, look for the wrench on the bottom left of the character sheet.
Click the wrench to access the Advanced Game Options. Click it to open the menu and change specific parts of your playthrough. Scroll down to the bottom of the new menu to see Other Options: Random Seed and fill in the text box with one of the Seeds shown below.
Random events can occur more often or at different times based on your chosen Seed, but you cannot change this later. If you change your Seed, wait before clicking Guarantee year one Completable, as it sometimes causes the Seed to be randomized. This option ensures you can unlock all Bundle items (like Red Cabbage) within the first year and beat the game before year two.
Good luck, and see you when Stardew Valley 1.6 comes out.
