If Team Tinker were looking for answers in Dominik “Black” Reitmeier, the German’s recent Axe performance was a promising sight.
The former Vici Gaming member put the embattled multi-national side on his back yesterday in a two-to-zero victory over Leviathan in the Starladder Season 12 Americas Qualifiers. However, it was one stretch of play in particular that’s sure to get your adrenaline going:
Needless to say, there’s a reason players hate Axe.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Reitmeier’s six kills happen thanks to an ability called Culling Blade. Known more affectionately as “the dunk” in Dota 2 circles, Culling Blade instantly kills players below a certain health threshold. In addition, a kill with the ability grants additional attack and movement speed to nearby allies. From player to player, Reitmeier hands out death-blows like free swag at Comicon, earning six straight kills and a double rampage in the process.
But truly it’s all in a day’s work for the world-class carry. And Tinker will need quite a few more highlight-reel plays if they hope to turn their fortunes around before The International in August.
