Enemy has acquired North American Smite Pro League (SPL) squad Legion of Carrots, sources close to the organization and team tell the Daily Dot.
The team is made up of a number of veterans, including Ben “saltmachine” McKinzey, Alexander “Khaos” Greenstein, Louis-Phillippe “PainDeViande” Geoffrion, and Conor “Vetium” Roberts. Alongside the four will be Challenger newcomer Benjamin “Wigglesdabae” Wiggles.
The team intended bring on “DrEl0” as its coach. But the player was involved in a match-fixing scandal on his team Team Acceleration in October 2014, making him ineligible to work with a SPL squad in any capacity, sources say.
Both organization owner Dan “Clerkie” Clerke and the organization itself teased plans for a new Smite outfit earlier this week:

Enemy’s former SPL team took last place in the summer season. That put it in a relegation battle against Rival that it ultimately lost. It’s currently uncertain what Enemy’s plans for its relegated squad, though it seems likely the organization will drop the team.
The Legion of Carrots squad took sixth place in the SPL Summer Season. Shortly after, team captain Geoffrion made major roster changes, ultimately removing the other four members on the squad. He’s now assembled a new roster, which is a mixture of former professional players—including previous Enemy’s squad hunter Roberts—as well as newer names to the competitive scene. He recently spoke out about the changes in a Reddit thread on the SMITE subreddit.
Enemy has teams in professional League of Legends and amateur Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, as well as players across titles the likes of Pokémon and Super Smash Bros. 4.
The North American SPL Fall Season begins on Aug. 15. Enemy’s first match will be against Cognitive Gaming who recently requalified for the SPL with a victory over Noble eSports.
