After ongoing speculation from fans, another critically acclaimed indie game is headed to Nintendo Switch next month—2017’s Night in the Woods was spotted on the Nintendo eShop earlier today, with the game set to launch in early February.
Night in the Woods is coming to the Nintendo Switch on Feb. 1, priced at $19.99, according to the Nintendo eShop’s upcoming games section. Clicking on the game’s eShop entry leads to an official Nintendo page advertising the game, with additional information on its developer, publisher, and features. A tweet from publisher Finji reveals the game will launch with the Weird Autumn DLC content as well.
Night in the Woods follows Mae Borowski, a college dropout heading home to her hometown, Possum Springs. But life has changed since high school, and something strange is happening in the town, particularly out in the woods. Players venture through her hometown, trying to figure out what’s going on as Mae becomes reacquainted with life back home.
Night in the Woods’ Switch announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, although fans suspected that the game would eventually land on the Nintendo console. After the free DLC update Night in the Woods: Weird Autumn launched last fall, the game’s developers teased that there would be news “for another console, which I am unable to mention for reasons, but you know what console I’m talking about.” Most fans assumed a Nintendo Switch release was in the works, which appears to be the case after all.
Night in the Woods launches on the Nintendo Switch on Feb. 1 for $19.99. GamingBolt reports the game will take up 6.2 GBs on the Switch once it’s available for download.
