Few teams have experience the kind chaos that Virtus Pro endured over the past month. Fortunately for fans, those troubling times appear to be coming to an end.
The Russia-based team, picked clean in recent rounds of roster changes, finally absorbed its secondary roster just before invites are to be sent for The International. The team dropped its “ASUS Polar” tag in lieu of the standard Virtus Pro logo and name.
In addition, the squad dropped hot-and-cold contributor Vadim “Sedoy” Musorin in favor of original Virtus Pro member Sergei “God” Bragin. Brain will man the mid lane for the team while Alexander “Dkphobos” Kucera and Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev man the off lane and hard-carry roles respectively.
Rounding out the lineup, Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk will pair with team captain Artem “FNG” Barshak in support. Barshak put the ASUS Polar name on the competitive radar with innovative drafting and a carry Treant Protector pick that still has many pros scratching their heads with its effectiveness.
Every year, The International hands out invites to a select number of teams across all regions. With the re-shuffling, Virtus Pro is no doubt hoping to nab a last minute invite and avoid an arduous qualification process.
