Battlestate Games’ hardcore first-person shooter Escape from Tarkov is well-known for being one of the most realistic in its genre, complete with a leveling system that increases your capabilities in-game and a looting system that has players extremely focused on protecting the gear they find in raids.

Roughly every six months, the developers release a large-scale patch for the game featuring a collection of new content. This update does, however, come with a massive server reset, known as a wipe.

This reset clips each and every player’s wings, sending them plummeting to the brutal and destitute beginning all over again.

Sometimes, Tarkov’s devs send out cryptic messages and images on social media—across all their channels and profiles—to hint at a possible wipe, including pre-patch events that take place in-game. It’s an incredibly clever way to have avid players grind back up and enjoy the new content, while also giving a chance for less active players to catch back up with the rest of the player base.

And so, every Tarkov player wants to know when the wipes are coming.

When is the next Escape from Tarkov wipe?

The previous full reset ruined everyone’s progress on Jun. 29 this year. But a new wipe was introduced with Patch 0.13.0.0, which was released on Dec. 28.

The wipe might be devastating for some players with an inventory busting with loot, but it also evens the playing field for players. The new patch is also introducing the Streets of Tarkov area, providing a new location for players to explore, alongside new weapons and equipment.

Players will have roughly six months to enjoy the new content before the next wipe, so don’t get too attached to your current inventory.

This article will be updated when a date for the next server wipe is confirmed.
