Genshin Impact is packed with activities and challenges for players to take on, and one of the most abundant is Time Trials. These tasks can be extremely rewarding, but sometimes they are tough to find since they can be well hidden around the vast world of Teyvat.

If you’re hoping to take on these unique feats and unlock the loot they deliver, you’ll need to know where to find every Time Trial in Genshin.

All Genshin Impact Time Trial challenge types

There are a total of 411 Time Trial locations spread all around the regions of Teyvat. Each of these challenges is a part of certain regions and constitutes a lot of similar challenges that involve doing certain tasks in the area as fast as possible.

Time Trial challenges can be divided into four different types, with each type of challenge requiring different objectives to be cleared to complete the challenge. These are the four types of Time Trials:

  1. Destroy objects within a time limit
    • The first type of challenge involves blowing up strategically-placed exploding barrels or bubbles that are spread out over the map location within a specific time limit.
  2. Defeat opponents
    • This challenge entails defeating a certain number of enemies within the allocated span of time.
  3. Dexterity
    • You may encounter a few different challenges that fall under this larger category. Some of them may task you with blowing up exploding barrels, exactly like the first challenge, but other possible challenges include gliding through the air to collect certain elemental particles in time.
  4. Racing
    • The final challenge type is racing, which is as straightforward as it sounds. In this Time trial type, you need to get from one point to the other as fast as possible.

All Genshin Impact Time Trial challenge locations

Here are all of the Time Trials across the map, separated by major locations around Teyvat:

  • Mondstadt – 17 challenges
  • Dragonspine – 16 challenges
  • Liyue – 47 challenges
  • The Chasm – 20 challenges
  • Inazuma – 80 challenges
  • Enkanomiya – 18 challenges
  • Sumeru – 158 challenges
  • Fontaine – 55 challenges

Mondstadt Time Trials

This area has the lowest number of challenges out of the element-specific regions of Teyvat that have achievements. Completing 5, 10, and 15 of these challenges will reward you with the three different tiers of the “Wind-Chasing Adventurer” achievement.

Dragonspine Time Trials

Dragonspine sits between the Anemo region of Mondstadt and the Geo region of Liyue. The Time Trials you’ll find here can be somewhat tricky to complete because of the tough terrain and chilly temperature. There are no achievements tied to these Time Trials but they are still fun to complete if you like a challenge plus some decent rewards.

Liyue Time Trials

This area can be divided into Northern Liyue and Southern Liyue, each with its own share of Time Trial challenges.

Completing 10, 20, and 40 of these challenges unlocks the three tiers of the “Rock-Steady Adventurer” achievement. If you played during Genshin 1.3 and took part in the Lantern Rite event, there should be a total of 48 challenges instead of 47.

The Chasm Time Trials

The Chasm has some of the tougher challenges in the game as well, but thankfully there are not too many of them to complete. The Chasm is a special area that includes a hidden region called the Underground Mines. The Time Trials in both of these areas are included in this location.

Completing three, six, and 12 of these Time Trial challenges grants you the three different tiers of the “Chasm Adventurer” achievement. Of the 20 challenges in The Chasm area, 15 are in the Underground Mines and the other five are on the surface area.

Inazuma Time Trials

The Electro region of Inazuma is broken up into several different islands which means there are quite a few distinct areas you’ll find the 80 Time Trials at. You’ll find the first batch of challenges around Narukami Island, Kannazuka, and Yashiori Island.

Completing six, 12, and 24 of these challenges across Narukami Island, Kannazuka, and Yashiori Island together nets you the “Lightning-Riding Adventurer (I)” achievement.

The next areas are Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island and finishing six, 12, and 24 of these challenges in these two areas will reward you with the “Lightning-Riding Adventurer (II)” achievement.

Getting all three achievements along with the 80 challenges completed in this area will clear this zone. There is also another hidden challenge, getting the count up to 81, but this challenge is only accessible if you have participated in the Lost Riches event.

Enkanomiya Time Trials

This area is a secret part of Inazuma but is classified as a special region of its own much like The Chasm is part of Liyue but is so complex that it is regarded separately. The Time Trial challenges here can be pretty challenging, but they are all quite doable within a few tries nonetheless.

Completing three, six, and 12 of these challenges nets you the “Kairos’ Constancy” achievement which has three distinct tiers to it.

Sumeru Time Trials

The Dendro region of Sumeru currently has the most Time Trials of all the regions. You’ll find these trials throughout the lush forest areas of the region and across the vast dusty desert.

Many of Sumeru’s Time Trials are scattered around the vibrant green areas located next to the Geo region of Sumeru. Completing 10, 20, and 40 of these challenges around the Avidya Forest, Lokapala Jungle, Lost Nursery, Ardravi Valley, Vissudha Field, Vanarana, and Ashavan Realm areas will reward you with the “Adventurer of the Shimmering Woods” achievement.

The biggest part of Sumeru is the massive deserted taking over the west side of it. You will find many Time Trials across this area.

Finishing 10, 20, and 40 of these challenges around the Hypostyle Desert, the Land of Upper Setekh, and the Land of Lower Setekh will unlock the “Quicksand Adventurer (I)” achievement.

Tackling seven, 14, and 28 Time Trials in the Desert of Hadramaveth grants the “Quicksand Adventurer (II)” achievement.

Lastly, finishing four, eight, and 16 of these tasks in Girdle of the Sands unlocks the “Badlands Adventurer” achievement.

Fontaine Time Trials

The latest expansion to Teyvat is Fontaine, the Hydro region. We currently only have access to the first part of the Fontaine map, so you can expect to see more Time Trials added to the Hydro region when it expands in later updates

You can unlock the three tiers of the “Waveriding Adventurer” achievement for completing three, six, and 12 Time Trials around the Court of Fontaine area, the Beryl Region, and the Belleau area. This feat is one of the many new achievements that arrived with the Version 4.0 update.

Limited-time Genshin Impact Time Trial challenges

While the previous challenges constitute all of the major challenges in the game, there are also a few limited-time challenges that count toward certain achievements.

The additional challenges here are all limited-time. As such, most of them can’t be completed right now, but they may become available again during future events.

  • One challenge was introduced during the Lantern Rite event in Genshin Impact 1.3. This challenge was not a very difficult one but it counted toward the “Rock-Steady Adventurer” achievement.
  • One challenge was introduced during the Lost Riches event in Genshin Impact 2.0. This challenge was somewhat difficult and it counts toward the “Lightning-Riding Adventurer (I)” achievement.
  • A total of 23 additional challenges were introduced in Genshin Impact 2.5. These challenges were added during the Three Realms Gateway Offering event. With the sheer number of these challenges, thankfully they were not a part of any achievement.

Since more Time Trials will be added in the future as Genshin’s world of Teyvat continuously expands, you can expect to see all future trials added here.
