Australian esports organization Team Immunity has announced its official Halo team, which will compete at DreamHack Atlanta from July 21 to 23.
The team consists of Australian players Aaron “Benno” Bennett and Matthew “Voltage” Barker and North American players Dillon “Daddy” Randa and Alex “Swift Kill” Ramirez. Although Benno and Voltage competed under Immunity in the past, with their last competition being the 2017 Halo World Championship on March 12, Daddy and Swift Kill are new additions to the roster.
Team Immunity is one of the most well renowned Australian organizations involved in Halo, having over six years of experience in the scene.
Benno and Voltage
Benno and Voltage have been competing together under Team Immunity throughout their entire Halo careers, with their first major event being MLG Anaheim 2011, in which they placed 23rd. Their most successful placement was second at the Halo World Championship ANZ Regional Finals in February 2016. With this duo competing together for over six years, they will provide the team with a strong level of chemistry that may be hard for most rosters to match.
Daddy and Swift Kill
The two players competed alongside each other on Elevate back in the HCS Summer Pro League Last Chance Qualifier in May 2016. Both Daddy and Swift Kill bring a strong playmaking ability through their slaying power, which will open many opportunities for the team to capitalize on.
Daddy is a seasoned competitor in the Halo scene, having played with several of the current top pro players, such as Richie Heinz, Brett “Naded” Leonard, and Cory “Str8 Sick” Sloss. Swift Kill is also a seasoned competitor. He has an extensive history in the game, dating all the way back to MLG Charlotte 2007, his first event.
With a combination of Australian and North American competitors, it will be interesting to see these players share the strategies they have learned from competing in different regions.
This mix may provide Immunity with a unique advantage that could set them apart from the competition at DreamHack Atlanta.
