The next installment in Hearthstone’s short story the Tale of the Fox has been released, continuing the story of Marin the Fox’s adventure in the catacombs.
The story continues as Marin gets picked up by a river flowing deeper into cavern. He runs into a cute but terrifying mushroom, only to narrowly escape into the clutches of a pirate.
Luckily for Marin, the pirate believes the Fox to be one of his own kind and invites him to join the crew. Captain Candlebeard is in the middle of planning a raid on some treasure and is glad for Marin to join him.
The end of the story makes an allusion to Dungeon Run, the new game mode that will be released with the Kobolds and Catacombs expansion on Dec. 7. A daring raid on a Dragon’s treasure.
Part three ends with the Bard hinting at what is to come.
“Alas, poor Marin, always going from the cauldron straight into the flame,” the Bard lamented. “And when it comes to Vustrasz the Ancient, I mean flame quite literally. But don’t you worry, Marin is sharp one, and we’ll soon find out how he handles Captain Candlebeard!”
Part 4 will be the final section of the short story, and will close out the Tale of the Fox. The Kobolds and Catacombs expansion is set to release on Dec. 7.
