In the Warrior vs. Shaman game in the final reveal stream, a bunch of new cards were shown off.
Kobolds and Catacombs, Hearthstone’s next expansion, releases this Thursday (Dec. 7) in the Americas region. It will then launch in Europe and other regions on Dec. 8.
If you miss Ogre Brute, Kobold Barbarian is bringing the random attacks back. At least it happens at the start of your turn, so you can react with your full mana to the consequences.
If you’ve ever wanted to craft Ysera but don’t have the dust, Sleepy Dragon is for you. It’s a nine mana 4/12, just like Ysera and Malygos, but it’s not a legendary—it’s a common card.
It might have been a Warrior and Shaman game, but a Hunter card snuck in there thanks to an Evolve. This is a cheap card with an effect we’ve seen before, originally on Foe Reaper in Goblins vs Gnomes.
The set includes 135 new cards, including two legendaries for each of the game’s nine classes—a legendary minion and a legendary weapon.
Kobolds and Catacombs is the final set of the 2017/18 standard set calendar, the Year of the Mammoth. When the next expansion arrives in the Spring, the game’s three oldest expansions will rotate out.
