A few days after the beginning of spoiler season, a new class archetype is beginning to emerge in Hearthstone.
Card reveals for Knights of the Frozen Throne, Hearthstone’s next expansion, continue with the latest addition to the Shaman class: Voodoo Hexxer.
Revealed on Ole “Naiman” Batyrbekov’s Twitch stream earlier today, Voodoo Hexxer is a five mana 2/7 with Taunt. Voodoo Hexxer freezes any character it deals damage to, enriching the potential Freeze Shaman archetype. The card combines well with Ice Breaker, the Shaman weapon unveiled earlier this week. Voodoo Hexxer freezes your opponent’s larger threats, and Ice Breaker takes care of the rest. Together, both Voodoo Hexxer and Ice Breaker can take control of the board in a new Freeze Shaman strategy.
We’re still eagerly awaiting the reveal of the Shaman class Legendary and Legendary Hero card. Maybe those two additions will put the Freeze Shaman archetype into better focus. Either way, the Shaman class is developing a new identity as we inch one step closer to the release of Knights of the Frozen Throne in the coming weeks.
