We can’t be too far away from the release of all these new cards now, with mid-April promised. But until then, theory crafting and strategizing will have to do.
Voodoo Doll is a three mana neutral epic minion. It’s just a 1/1, but the effect is all that matters.
When Voodoo Doll is played, choose a minion. Voodoo Doll’s Deathrattle will destroy that chosen minion. At a very simplified level this is something we’ve never seen before in Hearthstone—neutral hard minion removal.
Of course it’s not that simple. If Voodoo Doll doesn’t die straight away it can be countered. Silence is a thing that exists in Hearthstone, and is the natural antidote to this. With Control Warlock still going to be very strong, silence will likely be a very popular tech choice in most decks.
Even if we aren’t talking about silence, your opponent could simply trade off the targeted minion. Sure you’ve caused that to happen, but there’s a reason Corruption isn’t all that popular in Warlock. It doesn’t give you enough control over the removal to justify it.
