Hearthstone’s next expansion is Kobolds and Catacombs.
The new set of cards was revealed as part of the opening ceremony of BlizzCon with game director Ben Brode lifting the lid on the new content. It’s coming next month, with the first cards being revealed later today.
The expansion is centered on the idea of gathering loot and hidden treasure in the depths of Azeroth. It will incorporate some elements of traditional RPG games—so if you are a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, this could be a real treat.
The expansion is the last to be released as part of the current Standard rotation, known as the Year of the Mammoth. The next expansion after that will arrive in April, at the same time as the set rotation occurs. At that point, Whispers of the Old Gods, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, and One Night in Karazhan will be removed from Standard play.
