In the Warcraft universe, the Priest is the spellcasting counterpart of the Paladin. Where the Paladin sees themselves as warriors of the light, you can think of the Priest as a mage of the light.
Priests use holy magics to smite their foes, heal their allies, and even raise the dead. In Hearthstone, Priest does much of the same. You can expect to see spells that heal you, heal your minions, and even raise your minions from their mortal end.
Given its playstyle, Priest naturally lends itself to a Control-type playstyle. Some Priest players would argue the class is at its best when you are actively prolonging a game, draining your opponent of all their resources as the powers of holy magic sustain you.
On that note, the Priest class has a Hero Power called Lesser Heal. As its name implies, Lesser Heal restores two health to your target for the cost of two mana. Similar to the Mage Hero Power, Lesser Heal can be aimed at anything the Priest desires, including himself or his opponent. This comes in handy should you ever find yourself in Shadowform, a state where your Hero Power actually deals damage instead.
Unfortunately for Priest fans, the class overall has one of the lowest win rates in the game on HSReplay at this time. That being said, it does have a few decks that should still be able to earn a few wins in the right hands. If you’re a dedicated servant of the light, also known as a longtime Priest main, you can likely still navigate your way up the ranks with one of the lists you’ll find below.
Since Hearthstone’s new March of the Lich King expansion drops next month, be sure to craft with caution. March of the Lich King will introduce a new class to the game, the Death Knight. The introduction of the Death Knight, as well as all of the other new cards coming with March of the Lich King, means the meta will be in flux for a few weeks. But if you have the extra dust or have already invested in Priest, carry on to victory in the name of the Light.
Here are some of the best Priest decks in Hearthstone right now.
Naga Priest
If you’re looking for something fresh, it doesn’t get much fresher than Naga Priest. The Naga archetype joined Hearthstone earlier this year and, as its name implies, relies heavily on synergies held amongst Naga-type minions. Arguably the most important Naga in the deck is Priestess Valishj, a zero-cost Priest Legendary that allows you to refresh an empty mana crystal for each spell you’ve cast earlier in the turn.
If you enjoy a mid-range minion-heavy playstyle that requires you to make some intricate decisions with regard to minion play, Naga Priest might be worth your time.

Big Priest
As the name implies, Big Priest revolves around destroying your opponent with big beefy minions. The primary minions that make this deck work are Neptulon the Tidehunter and Stoneborn General. Neptulon is a huge Colossal minion with Rush and Windfury. Stone Born General is an 8/8 Rush minion with a Deathrattle that summons another 8/8 minion with Rush. Combine those with the Hero card Xyrella, a card that repeats Deathrattles you’ve triggered earlier in the game, and you can see how a wombo-combo is begging to happen.
Big Priest is pretty affordable, coming in at 4,360 dust, so definitely give it a go if it looks like it might fit your playstyle.

Quest Priest
The Quest playstyle is one players love or hate. Quest cards introduce a Questline for the person using them that forces them to carry out a certain sequence of events during the game to reward them later, usually in three different stages. This can either be viewed as a fun mini-game that you have to think about while juggling your opponent or it can be thought of as creating a deck that plays more like solitaire.
If you enjoy the Quest playstyle, Quest Priest has a list full of fun toys that are worth taking for a spin.
