The team was unable to contact the player after he returned to South Korea following the Spring Split. This means that Dignitas will be sticking with the same team that narrowly avoided relegation in the most recent split.

It was a rough split for Dignitas, which lost captain and jungler Alberto “Crumbzz” Rengifo, initially replaced with Stephen “CloudNguyen” Nguyen. After playing six games, however, Nguyen was replaced with Andrew “Azingy” Zamarripa, who saw out the remainder of the season with mixed performances. It was widely speculated that Dignitas would look to replace Zamarripa in the off-season. But outside of the inquiry into Shin’s availability, the organization made no other moves, and is sticking with its current roster.

“We did enquire to Winterfox on the status of Helios but we were unable to contact him,”

Dignitas owner and general manager Michael “ODEE” O’Dell told the Daily Dot. “Apparently due to other issues he has in Korea, he does not want to continue playing. That is about as much as I know. In terms of our team for LCS we are sticking with this line-up for the summer split.”

We asked Winterfox if Shin, who is still under contract with the team, will be retiring, but did not receive a response by publication time.
