After being sidelined from Gambit Gaming last month, Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou has reportedly received offers from a number of League Championship Series (LCS) teams.
Both G2 Esports and ROCCAT have extended offers to the star AD carry, while Unicorns of Love has offered him a tryout for its vacant spot, sources close to the teams and player tell the Daily Dot. He’s also been approached to make a return to Gambit’s starting lineup as the team looks to patch things up and rebuild a roster for next split. Teams from Oceania and Turkey have also reached out to the player.
But Tzortziou has little interest in staying in Europe or moving further East, sources say, and instead would prefers to join a North American side for the 2016 season. Right now, however, those offers have not been forthcoming. Tzortziou came close to sealing a deal with Team Curse (now known as Team Liquid) in September 2014, and had negotiations with Counter Logic Gaming in the Spring of 2015 that ultimately fell apart.
Tzortziou had an up-and-down 2015. As a member of SK Gaming during the Spring, he earned LCS MVP honors and was lauded as one of the most gifted players at his position in the world. But his Summer campaign on Gambit Gaming ended with the team’s relegation after Tzortziou’s own season came to abrupt end when Riot Games levied a four-game ban against the player on June 21 for alleged “toxicity.”
Without the star AD carry, Gambit brought in mid laner-turned-support in its AD carry role, former Supa Hot Crew mid Amaury “Moopz” Minguerche. The team lose both games without Tzortziou in its bot lane, ending a late season surge and sending them to relegations. On Oct. 13, the team benched Tzortziou and began looking for a new AD carry in his place.
