Konstantinos “Forg1ven” Tzortziou may be about to play his last game in the European League Championship Series. The Greek AD Carry revealed in an interview after his team’s win over Fnatic that he faces potential compulsory military duty in his home country.
The player says he and the team were only told this morning, and haven’t even begun to work on a solution. This is the second time in the Spring split alone that H2K have had to deal with players being forced out of the league. Mid laner Yoo “Ryu” Sang-ook missed several weeks due to an invalid visa earlier this split—a problem that affected multiple LCS lineups in Europe and North America.
Tzortziou is a legend of the European League of Legends scene and is revered as one of the best technically gifted players in the LCS. After leaving Gambit Gaming in 2015, he joined H2K for the 2016 Spring Split. Tzortziou and his team have thus far been one of the best teams in the league and are currently tied for first place.
Tzortziou has struggled to find stability in the LCS. During his time on Gambit Gaming, he received a four-match ban for “toxic behavior” at a crucial part of the split.
H2K head coach Neil “Pr0lly” Hammad appeared on the analyst desk after the game to explain the situation.
“We fought for Ryu, and we will fight and succeed for Forg1ven,” Hammad said.
