Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon will likely leave Fnatic after a breakthrough 2015 season. Where he’ll end up still isn’t clear, but sources within the North American LCS suggest he’s in negotiations with a North American team—though as an AD Carry, not a top laner.

Huni’s motivations for leaving the team aren’t entirely clear. Sources close to the team, however, say the top laner didn’t enjoy life under Fnatic head coach Luis “Deilor” Sevilla, who apparently imposed strict rules on the team regarding lifestyle. Sources also say that the player is unhappy with his contract at the organization, that the salary is too small, and that he thinks he could be making much more in North America.

With the player’s new destination still up in the air, he’s currently home in South Korea. He’s expressed an interest in swapping from the top lane to AD Carry, and one team in north America seems willing to take the risk, though sources wouldn’t say which team that is. He’s also been playing almost exclusively AD Carries in solo queue while he’s been at home in South Korea.

Fnatic with Huni in the top lane had possibly the most successful single season in European LCS history. The side won both the Spring and Summer LCS split, going almost completely undefeated in their Summer run, dropping games only to Origen in the playoff final.

On top of their domestic success, the team also made it through to the semifinals of the World Championships, which they lost to KOO Tigers.
