Zhang “Mor” Hong-Wei is leaving North American LCS team LMQ and will be replaced by Robert Morris University support star Adrian “Popstar Adrian” Ma.
Ma, formerly a freshman at RMU, officially dropped out of school a few days ago, sources close to the team told the Daily Dot.
Alex Gu apparently contacted Ma while he was playing for RMU with a guarantee to play for a full split with a $4,000 monthly salary.
It’s unclear if Zhang left the team or if he was benched, but sources say he was potentially pursuing a coaching role. This move comes after OnGamers reported negotiations were “ongoing” with Zhang.
LMQ is currently rebuilding its roster following major ownership disputes. Li “Vasilii” Wei-Jun, Xiao “ackerman” Wang and Zhou “NoName” Qi-Lin left the team last month. Sources close to the LMQ say Yu “XiaoWeiXiao” Xian may leave as well, at which point the team will be without its entire original roster.
Ma tweeted about his departure from the RMU esports team on Sunday.
Good bye Chicago!~ Thank you @RMUeSports for the wonderful opportunity. I wonder what’s next… pic.twitter.com/eH5lQkCa71

Ma was a top player on the undefeated RMU squad and ranked in the top 20 of the North American solo queue ladder.
