Week three of the North American League of Legends Championship Series is upon us, and one of the most exciting matches will probably be Team SoloMid and LMQ. Six games in, both of these teams are doing well, so we turned to the numbers to see where the differences might lie.

Team SoloMid and LMQ are, without a doubt, two of the most exciting teams in North America right now. Team SoloMid, whose mid laner Soren “Bjergsen” Bjerg was the League MVP in the spring, are in a bit of a slump, but have a lot to gain with a win over LMQ. Meanwhile, LMQ, who came to North America from China, are rocking the house despite such a dramatic switch. Both teams are sure to give their all in this clash of the titans.

The numbers give us a good idea where these two teams sit. Team KDA and gold income are both fairly even, and it appears on the surface that these teams can play at about the same power level. But a second glance at the player matchups tells a whole different story. Facing off against MVP Bjerg is LMQ’s Yu “XiaoWeiXiao” Xian. Yu’s Creep Score (CS), which measures all units killed by the player, skyrockets throughout the match, nearing 100 plus compared to lane opponents. That means that the longer each game goes on, the more powerful and better equipped he will be against his opponents. Bjerg’s ability to limit Yu’s power may very well decide the course of the game.

Still, LMQ’s 0-2 week two record shows some vulnerability. Team SoloMid, with all the momentum gained from such a solid performance last year, should have no problem ironing out the wrinkles that have plagued them so far this split, and should deliver a commanding performance to give LMQ their third loss in a row.
