League of Legends head coach Tadayoshi “Hermit” Littleton will be departing from Origen in the coming week, sources close to the coach tell the Daily Dot.
Littleton will be moving back home to the United States and is likely to join a North American League Championship Series (LCS) squad, sources say.
Littleton is relatively new to the head coaching role after getting the nod in September. But during his time with Origen at the World Championships last month, he showed that he deserves to be considered one of the best in the West. Through his clever pick and ban phases—successfully out-drafting opponents such as Team SoloMid, KT Rolster, Flash Wolves, and LGD Gaming on several occasions—the team made it to the semifinals of the event in their rookie season, and nearly took a game off Korean giant and two-time World Champion SK Telecom T1.
Before he became a coach, Littleton was widely regarded as one of the West’s best analysts. He was hired alongside Michael “Veteran” Archer for the role on Feb. 20, shortly after Origen qualified for the European Challenger Series. He and Archer led the team to an incredible split and ultimately qualification for the LCS.
But Littleton’s big break came in September when Origen head coach Titus “LeDuck” Hafner abruptly left the team. Littleton was named the team’s head coach for the World Championship on Sept. 17, just 14 days before the tournament started.
Now, it seems his skills will return across the pond to begin another chapter in an already successful coaching career.
