But Origen mid laner Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martinez and support Alfonso “Mithy” Rodriguez had other ideas in the team’s first game of the tournament. Around the 34-minute mark, after his team gained an early lead in gold, LGD jungler Zhu “TBQ” Yongquan made a big mistake, wasting an ult on Mithy, which in turn caused Origen AD Jesper “Niels” Svenningsen to pull the support player to safety using Kalista’s ultimate ability.

XPeke, playing Orianna, expertly followed up the four-man Summon: Tibbers from Mithy’s Annie with a Command: Shockwave. It set up the perfect play, known as a “wombo combo,” eliminating four members of LGD’s Gaming lineup.

It was a turning point in the game for Origen. With renewed strength, they calmly inflicted permanent structural damage on their opponents. Not long thereafter, Paul “Soaz” Boyer administered the final blow. The Chinese favorite committed the critical error of pursuing the high-risk Baron Nashor instead of mounting a defense to Soaz’s unopposed attack, sealing LGD’s fate.
