This year’s European League Championship Series winners Fnatic have signed former Team Dignitas top laner Noh “Gamsu” Yeong-jin and ex-World Elite jungler Lee “Spirit” Da-yoon.
The two players join Fnatic following the departure of Korean duo Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon and Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin—who signed with the team in January while Fnatic were undergoing a four-player roster shuffle leading into the fifth competitive League of Legends season.
Fnatic is now looking to another Korean duo to try and replicate their success in season five. Noh Yeong-jin and Lee Da-yoon signed with the team yesterday, with Fnatic completing the deal today, sources close to the team told the Daily Dot.
The addition of Noh Yeong-jin and Lee Da-yoon will come as a surprise to many, with rumors surfacing last month that the team would be sticking to an all-European lineup for 2016.
Noh Yeong-jin is best known for his time in North America with Team Dignitas, where he was considered one of the main threats of the team’s lineup. Despite the praises, he was unable to make an impact with Dignitas. Lee Da-yoon is a 2014 World Championship semifinalist. He had an extremely successful career in South Korea, and more recently spent the last season in China with World Elite.
The two players join existing Fnatic members Fabian “Febiven” Diepstraten and Martin “Rekkles” Larsson. The support player for the team has yet to be decided. Former support player and captain Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim announced a few days ago that he was leaving Fnatic to join the North American LCS. His next destination is Team SoloMid, as reported by the Daily Dot on Dec. 1.
Heo Seung-hoon and Kim Yeu-jin have not yet announced which teams they will be playing for in the 2016 season.
