Djoko to sub for Diamondprox in week three

Unicorns of Love have been forced to delve into the Challenger Series to find a substitute jungler for week three of the European League Championship Series

Unicorns of Love have been forced to delve into the Challenger Series to find a substitute jungler for week three of the European League Championship Series. They are bringing in some of the best available talent, however, as Millenium’s Charly “Djoko” Guillard will step in for LCS legend Danil “Diamondprox” Reshetnikov this week.

The team announced on Monday that Reshetnikov had been forced to depart the LCS because he lacked the correct working visa required to play—and it may not be a temporary absence. The Unicorns were unable to give an estimate on when the veteran might return, and it looks as though his season, and career, may be in peril. For now, Guillard will step in for week three, and it’s unclear who the Unicorns will substitute in the following weeks.

Guillard has already impressed in the Challenger Series for French side Millenium. The team qualified with ease and has already breezed past Team Huma, which is packed with former LCS talent. This will be Guillard’s first venture outside of playing with an all French lineup, and after playing the week, he will have equal games played in challenger series and LCS.

Fan reaction to the sub may vary, Reshetnikov is a legend of the game while Guillard is an LCS rookie. The Unicorns and Guillard will face Elements and G2 Esports in week three, and will look to try and maintain their strong start to the split, despite the issues facing them.
