On Dec. 11, Riot Games announced Tryndamere will be the recipient of the second Victorious skin for Split Two of the 2023 ranked season.

No one metric decides which champion receives the skin at the end of the split. Instead, the decision comes down to several factors. The chosen champion must:

  1. Have dominated pro and ranked play this season.
  2. Not already have a Victorious, Championship, or Conqueror skin.
  3. Not have a skin in the works.

Although Tryndamere wasn’t too popular a choice this season, especially in pro play, having boasted a relatively low pick rate throughout the second half of the year, there’s still a strong section of players with the champion in their own personal pools.

League players can expect to see Victorious Tryndamere arrive on live servers in February 2024. Riot has unveiled ranked reward skins around the same time every year—at the end of each competitive split. The second ranked split of 2023 finished on Jan. 10, with Patch 14.1 and the 2024 season beginning on the same day.

Although there was a surprise delay to 2023 Split Two, postponing end of the 2023 season for the early days of the new year. This allowed the players to grind the ranked ladder even more, giving them more opportunities to earn Victorious Tryndamere. Assuming you’ve earned enough split points by that date, you’ll have Victorious Tryndamere waiting for you when it goes live in Patch 14.4.

Do you need to reach Gold to get the new Victorious skin?

No, you no longer need to hit Gold in League ranked to unlock any split’s Victorious skin. In seasons past, League players would need to finish at least higher than Silver to net the rewards, but in 2023, Riot decided to open up the competitive cosmetic for everyone as a badge that you played ranked that split instead.
