Marvel Snap’s Bloodstone season was last year’s Halloween offering, and Elsa Bloodstone was the season pass card. In the Marvel universe, she’s a member of the Midnight Sons, a group dedicated to slaying supernatural beings.

Elsa Bloodstone is a werewolf slayer who uses the power of her Bloodgem to gain superhuman strength, stamina, durability, and healing powers. In Marvel Snap, she has a game-changing ability that boosts your other cards’ Power. So, here are the best Elsa Bloodstone decks in Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap Elsa Bloodstone abilities, explained

Elsa Bloodstone is a two-Cost, two-Power card with an ability that reads, “After you play a card that fills this location, give it +2 Power.” She’s essentially a tech card that can grant bonus Power to your cards under the right circumstances.

Strategy and best combos for Elsa Bloodstone decks in Marvel Snap

Elsa Bloodstone has a general effect that works with almost any card. Her ability doesn’t rely on a specific card or combo to work, so she can be a great tech card in most decks.

That said, certain cards take advantage of Elsa Bloodstone to great effect. One of them is Kitty Pryde, who can bounce herself back to your hand while stacking Power. Playing her at a location with three cards already with Elsa Bloodstone on the board can give her a total of plus four Power every time she’s bounced.

Silk is another card that synergizes well with Elsa Bloodstone. Her ability to shift herself across locations can be very impactful, especially if she moves to a location with two cards already. The last spot can be filled by any card that can be boosted by Elsa Bloodstone, while Silk can create space since she’ll move to another location.

The best Elsa Bloodstone decks in Marvel Snap

Ka-Zar Zoo

Elsa Bloodstone excels in a Ka-Zar zoo deck. Here, the main strategy is to fill all the locations with small cards, especially one-Cost units, since Ka-Zar gives plus one Power to all your one-Cost cards. Blue Marvel is a great addition too, since he gives plus one Power to all your units. Onslaught is a perfect finisher thanks to his ability to double the Ongoing effects of the cards at the same location.

This deck should include one-Cost cards like Ant-Man, Agent 13, and Squirrel Girl to swarm your locations with one-Cost cards. Shanna is also a great pick, as it adds a one-Cost card to each of your locations.

Dazzler helps you gain additional Power for each location with four cards, while Captain America gives plus one Power to each card at the same location. Cap off the deck with Black Swan, which makes your one-Cost cards cost zero on your next turn, and Valkyrie, which sets cards’ Power to three and can be a substantial boost.

Thanos Lockjaw

Elsa Bloodstone is also a great inclusion in a Thanos Lockjaw deck. This is a standard deck where your goal is to shuffle the six Infinity Stones back into your deck using Lockjaw’s effect to summon stronger cards without spending energy. This version takes advantage of Elsa Bloodstone’s ability, since using the Infinity Stones can help you fill your locations quickly.

The six Infinity Stones all offer powerful advantages, like drawing cards, replacing a location, giving you bonus energy, moving cards, and inflicting negative Power to your opponent’s cards. They are also the main targets for Lockjaw’s ability, so always try to play the dog in every game as much as possible, since its card-switching ability is the main offensive engine of this deck.

Aside from Thanos, the deck uses massive Power sources like Cull Obsidian and Devil Dinosaur, Vision (for movement), Blob (to potentially gain enormous amounts of Power), Skaar (potentially a cheap-Cost offensive card), and Magneto (to Move your opponent’s three and four-Cost cards and catch them off-guard).

The deck also runs the literally unstoppable Jeff the Baby Land Shark, while Caiera protects your one and six-Cost cards. Finish the deck off with Wave, which can change the maximum Cost of both players’ cards in their hand to four.

How to counter Elsa Bloodstone decks in Marvel Snap

Elsa Bloodstone’s ability is neither On Reveal nor Ongoing: This makes her immune to some of the game’s most renowned disruption cards, like Cosmo, Enchantress, Rogue, and Echo.

The catch, however, is that opponents can counter the cards Elsa Bloodstone boosts with her ability. One major counter is Shadow King, since he can return those cards to their base Power. The Power stack Elsa Bloodstone creates will be useless after your opponent plays Shadow King.

You can also consider Debrii as a counter to Elsa Bloodstone thanks to her ability to add a one-Cost rock unit to each other location on both sides. This can disrupt Elsa Bloodstone when you’re saving the last spot at one location for something powerful.
