One of the most recognizable characters in the Marvel universe, Deadpool has become a staple of many destroy decks, benefitting from a power boost every time he is destroyed which creates a huge impact late in the game.

With cards like Galactus and Knull still strong in the game’s meta, Deadpool continues to be a solid option for a variety of decks.

Deadpool begins as a single cost, one Power card at the start of a game in Marvel Snap, but his power grows throughout the game. His effect is as follows: “When this is destroyed, return it to your hand with double the power.”

A Series three card, Deadpool can be attained from collection level 486 and above or as a free selection in the Token Shop–where you can grab a free Series three card once per season.

Strategy and best combos for Deadpool decks in Marvel Snap

Deadpool is a card that needs to be destroyed to grow into a game-changer and should be destroyed as many times as possible. Some of the cards with the best synergy with Deadpool include:

  • Death
  • Knull

Death is a solid card to use in your Deadpool deck, as her cost reduces for each card destroyed in the game. You will want to destroy as many cards as possible to get the best from her card, which pairs perfectly with Death.

Similarly, Knull’s Power grows with every card that is destroyed and Deadpool can regularly boost his total. The downside is Knull is a six-cost card, meaning he and Deadpool cannot be played together in your final turn.

Players should consider snapping if several of the following cards have been drawn:

  • Deadpool
  • Nova
  • Knull
  • Death

Pairing Deadpool with Death is a classic combo, increasing Deadpool’s Power every turn he is destroyed while simultaneously reducing the cost of Death–ideally leaving her with zero cost at the end of the game.

When destroyed, Nova provides a boost to Deadpool, with Killmonger able to destroy both in a single turn—as well as destroying any one-cost cards on your opponent’s side.

With Carnage, Killmonger, Venom, Deathlok, and Arnim Zola, players possess plenty of options to continually destroy Deadpool and increase his power.

Players should consider snapping if several of the following cards have been drawn:

  • Deadpool
  • Galactus
  • Nova
  • Nimrod

Galactus is a powerful card that can quickly turn the tide of a game in Marvel Snap with his ability to destroy locations if he is the only card you have played. This can quickly erase your opponent’s plans, as well as provide another boost to Deadpool himself.

This deck, however, does not include a way to reduce the cost of Galactus, limiting his effectiveness, so he should instead remain as an option at the end of the game.

The focus should instead stay on destroying Deadpool as often as possible, which combines well with Bucky Barnes, Wolverine, and Nimrod, who similarly benefit from being destroyed.

How to counter Deadpool decks in Marvel Snap

An easy strategy for a player to use to counteract Deadpool is by using Armor, which prevents cards from being destroyed at a location. Cosmo works in a similar way, preventing On Reveal abilities that would destroy Deadpool.

If your opponent has priority on turn six, using Killmonger is a strong counter as he would remove Deadpool from the field, while Shang-Chi is another option if Deadpool’s power is above nine.
