Mobile shooter fans have a reason to be excited because Call of Duty: Mobile finally has a release date. The game will be released globally on Oct. 1 for both Android and iOS.
The game combines maps, guns, and characters from other CoD titles like Modern Warfare and Black Ops. Players will get a console-like experience as they engage in fights on familiar fan-favorite maps like Nuketown and Hijacked. Characters like John Price, David Mason, Simon “Ghost” Riley, Thomas Merrick, and Alex Mason will be unlockable in the game as well.
Additionally, CoD: Mobile will feature a fully-fledged 100 player battle royale mode. The mode is similar to Blackout from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Players will be able to play the mode in first and third-person perspectives in solo, duo or four-player squad modes.
In past betas for the game, players were able to play a zombies mode as well. There’s been no mention of the mode in this release, however. It’ll most likely come to the game at a later date.
The hype around the mobile version is evident since it’s reportedly crossed 60 million pre-registrants in China alone. While the number of pre-registrants across all countries and both platforms isn’t available, it was revealed in May that CoD: Mobile hit 10 million pre-registrations on the Google Play Store.
So far, it looks like this game developed by Tencent studio Timi and published by Activision will be a big hit.
