When is the next Treasure Hunt event in Monopoly GO?

At least once a month, a new Monopoly GO Dig Hunt event drops, featuring various rewards that are earned by digging for treasure with pickaxe or shovel tokens.

Data miners have unearthed the next Monopoly GO Dig Hunt event, called Mermaid Treasures. The main event contains over 5,000 dice rolls and a Wild Sticker. You can also earn a new token and shield. Here’s what we know about it so far.

When does Monopoly GO Mermaid Treasures release?

The expected release date for the Mermaid Treasures Dig Hunt is Aug. 30, with the Treasure Hunt lasting four days until Sept. 3. Treasure Hunts are my favorite Monopoly GO event because RNG is lower than other events and it’s possible to complete it as a free-to-play player.

Leading up to the Dig Hunt main event, I recommend taking advantage of all free resources that Scopely offers players, like dice rolls through daily links and Monopoly GO daily timed events.

Treasure Hunt events in Monopoly GO usually pop up once a month, between 20 to 30 days after the previous one. There’s no set date for when they happen because the developer, Scopely, might change things up depending on when other big events like Golden Blitz, Partner Events, and Prize Drops are happening. The devs try to make sure these events don’t overlap, so you probably won’t see a Treasure Hunt going on at the same time as those others.

Treasure Hunt events in Monopoly GO, sometimes called dig minigames or pickaxe events, are challenges where you use tokens to chip away at tiles on a grid to uncover hidden artifacts and treasures. You win rewards like dice rolls and sticker packs once you find all the treasures on one grid. Each event typically offers up to 20 grids filled with prizes.

To play the Monopoly GO main event, you get the tokens to break these tile blocks on a board, often called pickaxe or shovel tokens. Clearing a box tile may reveal a hidden treasure or grant you mini-rewards like dice or an extra pickaxe.
