The issue has been fixed, however.

The inaugural season of the Call of Duty League begins on Jan. 24. But some pros are already starting to question the current ruleset and game modes

Dallas Empire’s James “Clayster” Eubanks, one of the best CoD players in history, expressed his frustration with the Hardpoint game mode in Modern Warfare yesterday. During a scrim between his team and the Atlanta FaZe, Clayster and his teammate Cuyler “Huke” Garland noticed an inconsistent respawn delay.

Clayster’s teammate said “I can’t even spawn in” after losing the Hardpoint to the enemy team. Clayster joked as he realized he couldn’t respawn. “End the game bro, take it off,” the two-time world champion said.

This issue arose after the official ruleset was released yesterday. The Hardpoint setting “Capture Team Spawn Delay” was incorrectly set to enabled rather than disabled during this match. Clayster said “how in the fuck do you release a game when the game mode doesn’t even work” after the game was ended.

But the official ruleset was tweaked shortly after. “Capture Team Spawn Delay was set as ‘Enabled’ incorrectly,” the ruleset reads. “This setting should be disabled and has been adjusted below.”

Hardpoint, Domination, and Search and Destroy are the three core game modes in the initial ruleset for the inaugural season of the Call of Duty League. But fans can expect adjustments to be made to each mode following feedback from the pros.
