Wizards of the Coast continues to branch into esports and the digital community, reaching out to Twitch streamers in order to promote new expansions launching on MTG Arena. They’re accomplishing this by inviting streamers to compete in the first esports Mythic Invitational, along with providing full vault access to expansion cards on MTG Arena.
Those with full access to the vault will participate in the MTG Arena early access streaming day. The promotion was a success with the previous Ravnica expansions and is expected to follow suit with War of the Spark. With it set to release in the last week of April, there’s a handful of streamers every Magic: The Gathering player should check out during the MTG early access streaming day.
Sean “Day9tv” Plot
A host of Spellslingers and game designer, Day9 isn’t just a face for Magic: The Gathering. Whether playing Limited or Standard, Day9 always takes time to interact with his stream and explain himself. Formerly a competitive esports player in StarCraft, Day9 keeps his MTG Arena streams simple and easy to follow.
Day9 is also a proud cat dad to Sheriff and Despy, who often make regular appearances on the stream.
Amy “Amazonian”
Streaming seven days a week, “Amyzonian” (as she likes to call herself) not only knows Magic: The Gathering inside and out, but also placed in the top 16 during the first MTG esports Mythic Invitational.
Amazonian plays a variety of decks and is tuned into her community on chat. Every individual who subscribes to her channel gets their Twitch name inscribed on a mana card, held up to the camera, and kept for all eternity—all while she’s playing a match.
Kacem “Noxious” Khilaji
Noxious “ProfessorNoxLive” is a full-time Magic: The Gathering streamer who can dabble in deep MTG theories or have fun building janky decks. Noxious’ knowledge of MTG runs deep and he isn’t afraid to interact with his chat, especially when putting together decks.
Noxious’ streams are beneficial for beginners to the game and seasoned veterans alike. He’s always tossing out tidbits of knowledge and isn’t afraid to build a deck from scratch with his community while explaining his choices.
Caleb “CalebDMTG” Durward
CalebDMTG is a former Magic: The Gathering tournament player, specializing in the formats of Modern, Limited, Standard, and even Legacy. He primarily streams MTG Online (digital format before MTG Arena), yet is mentioned here because of his cool midwest personality and deep knowledge of the game.
CalebDMTG will not only explain what he’s doing during a match, but break down his opponent’s moves and actions as well. He believes in teaching while playing and can help improve anyone’s game.
Gaby Spartz
Gaby Spartz is a career Magic: The Gathering streamer (since 2011) with a super down-to-Earth personality and vast knowledge of the game. She specializes in Limited, Standard, and Modern formats. In addition, Gaby is a regular contributor and commentator in the MTG community.
Gaby is entertaining and interacts with her community chat, all while explaining her moves and thought process during a match.
Kenji “NumotTheNummy” Egashira
NumotTheNummy covers Magic: The Gathering Grand Prix events while maintaining a dominating presence on MTG Online and MTG Arena. NumotTheNummy has played MTG for over 18 years, landed a spot in the Mythic Invitational, and regularly competes in tournaments on MTG Online.
NumotTheNummy, like Noxious, will break down cards by rankings and spends a good amount of time interacting with his community during deck building and Limited draft play.
Luis “LSV” Scott-Vargas
LSV is a former competitive Magic: The Gathering pro player, having five Grand Prix wins and one Pro Tour title. LSV is knowledgeable in every type of MTG format and likes to share it with his Twitch community.
LSV can be found streaming MTG Arena and MTG Online, typically playing some form of control deck.
