For the first time in history, EA Sports has brought together a trio of talented brothers to grace the cover of NHL 25. The Hughes brothers are the newest cover stars for the upcoming hockey title, but for casual fans who haven’t kept up with the league, they might look unfamiliar.
In the history of the EA NHL franchise, there’s only been one other cover with three different players featured. This is also the first time a cover has three brothers on it. This shows just how talented these brothers are in the world of hockey since they’ve earned a place among EA’s various cover athletes.
If you’re wondering who these three players are, here’s a rundown on NHL 25‘s latest cover stars, the Hughes brothers.
Who are the Hughes Brothers in NHL 25?
The three brothers on the cover of NHL 25 are Jack, Quinn, and Luke Hughes.
Jack Hughes is the alternate captain for the New Jersey Devils, is the middle child of his three siblings, and is currently a center. He plays alongside Nico Hischier, who’s the captain of the roster. Jack is one of the youngest rising superstars in the NHL, having been drafted first overall in 2019. He was one of the best prospects before he was drafted but was sidelined this past season after going through season-ending shoulder surgery.
Quinn Hughes, on the other hand, is the eldest brother of the three and is the captain of the Vancouver Canucks as a defenseman. Last season, he had the fourth-most assists of any player in the regular season and the most points of any player at his position. He’s the cornerstone player for the Canadian organization and should be a prime player to acquire for any Ultimate Team.
Lastly, Luke Hughes is the youngest brother in the group and also plays with Jack on the New Jersey Devils. Unlike Jack, however, he plays as a top-line defenseman for the team, jumping in as an up-and-coming prospect who was named to the 2024 All-Rookie Team. He does need a bit of time to continue developing, but he’s shown flashes of greatness so far that earned him a spot on this cover.
