Blizzard revealed the competitive rank distribution for PC players in Overwatch 2 as a part of a competitive play update posted to the game’s official website. The chart does not include precise figures, but based on the graphic, it is likely that the 50th percentile is somewhere around the upper Gold ranks (i.e., Gold 3 or Gold 2).

With Blizzard getting rid of seasonal decay and placements at the start of Overwatch 2 season four, most players who have played on the competitive ladder this season should have ranks that are relatively close to their MMR, and the overall rank distribution is something similar to what former OW2 game director Jeff Kaplan revealed for the original title.
Here are the rank distribution statistics that Kaplan shared with players from a few years back:
- Bronze: 8 %
- Silver: 21 %
- Gold: 32 %
- Platinum: 25 %
- Diamond: 10 %
- Master: 3 %
- Grandmaster: 1 %
In a post to Blizzard’s forums, Kaplan disclosed what percentage of the game’s players were in each tier. That was the last time players received any definitive distribution statistics. Though we don’t know the exact percentage figures for the current distribution of active players in the game, the chart shared this year seems close to what Kaplan shared five years ago.
