Overwatch League team Philadelphia Fusion has revealed its Overwatch Contenders roster.
Operating as an “academy” team, the Contenders roster will compete as the organization’s B team in Blizzard’s developmental league. Nine of the Overwatch League organizations will reportedly field Contenders rosters that will compete alongside other teams not affiliated with the Overwatch League.

Philadelphia Fusion introduced the team in a video posted to YouTube—and the roster is impressive. The biggest pick-up is Seung “WhoRU” Jun-lee, the former Lunatic-Hai star DPS, a player who many thought would eventually get picked up by the Seoul Dynasty roster. Seoul isn’t putting together a Contenders roster at this time, however.
At age 16, WhoRU is unable to compete in the Overwatch League due to age restrictions. Philadelphia’s Contenders team is similarly young, working as a development program to prime talent for eventual Overwatch League participation. The youngest member, an American named Hayden ‘ZerG’ Thomas Gordon, is just 14 years old.
Former Tempo Storm tank Adam “Beasthalo” Denton, Renegades DPS Zachary “ZachaREEE” Lombardo, MEGA Thunder support Elijah “Elk” Hudson Gallagher, Lunatic-Hai support Kim “Alarm” Kyeong Bo, and flex tank player Hasan “crackinlakin” Alfardi join ZerG and WhoRU on the Contenders roster. No player is over age 19.
Former FNRGFE coach Aaron Atkins has been tapped to train the roster.
Overwatch Contenders is expected to start soon, with seven regions spread across the globe.
