Former support player Marcel “Veineless” Lehmann confirmed the team’s release from Team expert on Twitter. “I am now a free agent looking for offers as either support or potentially as coach,” Veinelee said. “Just to clarify, expert dropped the entire Overwatch team and I don’t think they intend to coming back any time soon.”

Most of the former Team expert players will continue to play together, Veineless added. Dot Esports has reached out to Team expert for confirmation of the roster’s release.

Team expert failed to qualify for Overwatch Contenders season one, unable to make it out of the European tournament’s group stage. The Overwatch roster just fell short of Bazooka Puppiez, who qualified instead.

Europe’s top-tier Overwatch teams are currently participating in Overwatch Contenders on a weekly basis, with few other major tournaments in place. Overwatch Contenders will eventually lead to Blizzard’s upcoming Overwatch League, which is set to kick off later this year. Just one European roster, Cloud9, is currently contracted as a part of the Overwatch League.
