Dungeons are the equivalent of raids in Palworld, giving you and your friends a maze to explore with wave of enemies to get through to reach your final reward. For those taking part in their first dungeon looking to read up on what they can expect, let us explain it to you.
Palworld dungeon locations
Here is a map of all of the Palworld dungeon locations on the island of Palagos.
What are dungeons in Palworld
Palworld dungeons are littered all over the map and present challenging areas for you, your pals and possibly your friends, to overcome. While these dungeons act as a challenge, they grant players with amazing rewards after defeating the dungeon boss. For a solo player, a cave dungeon is something that most will avoid. Whereas for multiplayer, it’s something to be excited about.
Rewards for dungeons include experience, technology tree unlocks, entrances to higher level areas to explore new creatures and even, rare Pals.
How to find a dungeon cave in Palworld
Dungeons can be found around the Palword map as big black caves. Walking towards these areas will bring up an option to go into a raid either by yourself, or ready up to join with friends at the same time.
You cannot join a raid in progress and after you beat one, a brand new randomly generated dungeon will take its place after many real-time hours have passed.
How to navigate a dungeon in Palworld
Once you enter a dungeon the easiest way out is to turn around and exit the dungeon the way you came. This might sound obvious, but as you delve further and further into the maze this becomes an increasingly tougher task.
Before you move forward, grab a piece of paper and draw a physical map. Scribble a starting location on it and keep track of where you are going at all times, so you know not only where you have been but where the way back is.
Dungeons are massive, mapless areas with tons of turning paths with no clear direction on where you should go. However, in each dungeon, there is a middle hub area in the center. Each path can be a dead end or lead to some treasure.
Playing in multiplayer is the best way to explore a Palworld dungeon, as you can split up and cover more ground. Luckily you can still ride on your mounts while in dungeons, so if you have a fast mount like Fenglope, did you can breeze around until you finally discover the exit. Its recommended to enter a dungeon with a fast mount for faster exploration.
How to exit a dungeon in Palworld
The only ways to exit a Palworld dungeon is by:
- Ending your in-game character so you respawn outside.
- Defeating the dungeon boss.
- Knowing exactly where the exit is.
What is the end goal for a dungeon in Palworld?
You’ll know you have gotten to the end of a dungeon when you come across a large open space with an alpha version of one of the over 100 Pals as your final opponent. Defeating, or capturing, the Pal is the final challenge these dungeons will have and can be a pain depending on the level difference between yourself and the dungeon, and if you are playing with friends or not.
Coming prepared with enough weapons and ammo is ideal to being able to take down these bosses. Otherwise all that previous wondering around would all be for nought.
Palworld Dungeon Rewards
Palworld Dungeon rewards consist of charms, rare gems, experience, and an Alpha Pal you can fight and catch. The Alpha Pal is a wonderful prize as dungeon crawling is the only way to get unique Alpha Pals outside of the world’s boss spawns. So, make the most of these Palworld Dungeons.
Now the real prize is the exit portal out of here. Click it! Quick! Let’s get back to the surface to explore and catch some Pals!
Do Palworld Dungeon Respawn?
Yes, Palworld dungeons respawn every 10 real-world minutes. You will be able to re-enter the dungeon after 10 minutes after defeating the boss. This allows you to defeat the Palworld dungeon boss again as well as gain loot and experience all over again!
Some dungeons will appear closed. This means the timer ran out which is always around 200 minutes. It will be blocked off and this will open other dungeons around the world. Newer areas will most likely have open dungeons while older areas will have closed dungeons.
It is a great idea to do these dungeons over again to level up really fast.
