The Pokémon World Championships will be the last stop in the 2023 season where the best players have been invited to compete across four different Pokémon games—Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon Go, Pokémon UNITE, and TCG.
All year, dedicated Pokémon players have been battling it out at local, regional, and international championships for their chance to play at Worlds, and now the biggest tournament of the year is just around the corner.
If you want to check out the 2023 World Championships or just support your favorite players, here’s everything you need to know about when and where it’s happening.
When is the 2023 Pokémon World Championships?
This year, the Pokémon World Championships will be held from Aug. 11 to 13. For Pokémon Scarlet and Violet VGC and TCG, the tournament will begin on August 11 with players fighting for their spot in day two. On August 12, the qualifying players from day one will compete with the top players who received day two invitations. The final two from each division will go head-to-head to close out the tournament on August 13. Pokémon Go will follow a similar three-day timeline.
Meanwhile, Pokémon UNITE will only have two days of competition from August 11 to 12.

Where are the 2023 Pokémon World Championships?
The 2023 Pokémon World Championships will be in Yokohama, Japan at the PACIFICO Yokohama Convention Center. In addition to the tournament matches, there will be plenty of other fun Pokémon-themed activities happening in Yokohama including shopping for merch at the Pokémon Center store, a summer festival, and a Pikachu parade.
